3 to 1, ducks in furor

The other day, on the shores of the river bank, four ducks were in a squabble. One screaming at the others “No, no, no, no, no,” and swimming away fast fuming.

The three others would not let the piece go.

They swam around,
	threading here,
				threading there.

Squabble more, squabble, squabble.
Suddenly, a flapping of wings, a screech, a splash of waves in the freeze of winter.
And repeat of screaming squabbles 3 to 1.
We will never know what it was about.

The mute cat would love to say more.
Alas, he was not there to witness it. He was watching the pigeons.

Hello, quick little verse, freshly written today. We’re not satisfied with it (we had other words a few days ago, when we saw the ducks in question.). Our resident housemate the mute cat’s back. Now we’re not sure we’ll be around next week. If we are are you up for a story like last year?

Enjoy ❤️
