Color Me Blue

Last time we showcased our photo blog, we went for spirituality. No, this is still not a religious playbook for you but rather, let’s talk about blue.

Yes, blue. The color blue. It is connected to confidence, serenity, wealth, intelligence, et al. And it is spiritual symbolism. How? Faith. Faith is linked with color, explaining the street art we’re showcasing.

As you can see these are Hebrew letters, more specifically white calligraphy painted over blue, or a blue sky, symbolic, in Judaism, for the presence of God.

Blue historically denotes royalty. However, spirituality does not necessarily trace back to God. It’s about faith. We all have it with us. It’s inside of us even on the bad days when we don’t feel it.

What’s your definition of faith?

interesting post about the color blue

had you ever read the book “Heaven Is For Real”?

in the book, the boy Colton (when he was a child) had gone to heaven, while he had been in the hospital

he said the Holy Spirit was blue-ish in color

that was real cool to read that part

whether folks believe it or not, I thought it was cool stuff

    cheers!

Hello, and very interesting post. I love the colour blue, always been my favourite colour, although I do love most colours as well…but faith, well, that is a different issue. I am a man of faith, no doubt, but my faith is rooted in spirituality. I’ve no faith, say, for politicians, supposed “world leaders” and I do not have faith in many people. So I would say that faith is something that you choose for whom you have faith in. It is a redundancy, I know, but if you think about it, faith is as abstract as music. You listen to the music you like and you discard the one that you do not…Great article and it makes one think and that is the most important thing. All the best and my greetings from Spain,
    Francisco

Thank you Francisco! Faith is personal and in so many places. I see it more in spirituality too. In politics, society, abstract form, even art. I see it also as confidence.. as in faith in yourself, which is completely different from usual accepted definitions. And, of course, faith in other people, which is trust.
